Service diversion work to start

Service diversions taking place from next week will help prepare the land at the Enterprise Zone for the new access road.

Work to divert some utilities will begin on Monday 20 November, starting near the Multi-Ply site before moving to various areas of the business park over the next three weeks. The works are not being conducted by Blackpool Council, but are necessary for the creation of the new access road.

During the time, a series of temporary traffic lights will be needed to ensure safe working practices.

Locations and estimated dates for the traffic lights (subject to change).

  • Monday 20 November – Wednesday 22 November. Two-Way Traffic lights by Multi-Ply
  • Thursday 23 November – Friday 24 November. Three-way traffic lights by Sir Frank Whittle Way
  • Monday 27 November – Wednesday 29 November. Two-way traffic lights by Chorley Hyundai
  • Thursday 30 November – Friday 1 December. Three-way traffic lights by JMAX
  • Saturday 2 December (8am – 5pm), Sunday 3 December (10am-4pm), Saturday 9 December (8am-5pm), Sunday 10 December (10am-4pm). Four-way traffic lights by School Road/Common Edge Road
  • Monday 4 December – Tuesday 5 December. Two-way traffic lights by Magellan Aerospace
  • Wednesday 6 December – Thursday 7 December. Four-way traffic lights by Warburtons/Canberra Court
  • Friday 8 December – Tuesday 12 December. Two-way traffic lights by Canberra Court.
  • Wednesday 13 December to Friday 15 December. Three-way lights between Oakwood Close and Jepson Way.

The work is a crucial step closer to the start of the new access road connecting Amy Johnson Way with Common Edge Road. Plans for the new road along with timelines are hoped to be shared very shortly.
