Planning approval for three new commercial buildings on Enterprise Zone

Planning approval for three new buildings at the Enterprise Zone has been granted.

Outline approval for the three two-storey buildings at Plot 109 on the Enterprise Zone will create 13 new units on the land between Lockheed Court and Lancaster House, off Amy Johnson Way. The site has sat dormant and undeveloped for many years and the development will add more additional jobs to the Enterprise Zone

In total, 3,000 sq m (32,295 sq ft) of floorspace would be created across the three buildings, with 2,550 sq m of Class B8 warehousing space and 450 sq m of Class E office space.

Equally, 61 parking spaces would be provided, including six accessible spaces and 13 EV spaces, all accessed off the central courtyard. Spaces for three motor cycles and around 30 bicycles would also be provided. The site would have a mix of hard and soft landscaping fronting Amy Johnson Way including a range of trees and shrubbery.

The construction is specifically designed to not impact on the sight lines for Air Traffic Control and Blackpool Airport has been consulted on the plans.

This is the third planning approval for private development on the Enterprise Zone in 2023, following approvals at Skyways Commercial Campus and Enterprise Court.

The full planning application can be seen via Blackpool Council’s planning portal – application number 22/0365. Detailed planning permission will be needed before any construction starts on the buildings.
