Plans approved for five new business units at Enterprise Zone

Plans for five new single-storey business units at the south east corner of Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone have been approved for development.

The units will extend the Enterprise Court development to a second phase, with the total development encompassing 3,000 sqm and potentially creating 30 new jobs in the Enterprise Zone.

The units will developed as shell to allow the individual businesses to fit-out the units to meet their own needs and budgets.

Each individual unit within each block is identifiable, which is important to potential businesses renting or purchasing the units, as it provides them with their own ‘front door’. Each unit will have a glazed personnel door together with a framed section of glazing and a goods loading door.

The front elevations will be brick faced with flat panel insulated metal cladding above, with the windows and doors being powder coated aluminium. The side and rear elevations will be clad with self-finished profiled insulated metal cladding. The roofs will also be self-finished profiled insulated metal cladding, with the rainwater goods being powder coated aluminium.

In addition to the buildings, a range of parking spaces and a covered area for bicycles and motorbikes will be created, along with some landscaping. The application was brought forward by Robert Pinkus and Mellor Architects.
