Watchtower event at Enterprise Zone for engineering and manufacturing businesses

The Lancashire Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing (AEM) Watchtower project is hosting an event to support businesses on the Enterprise Zone.

The free event based at Lancashire Energy HQ on 2 August is aimed to help businesses who are struggling to recruit or retain staff.

Watchtower is a 2-year £1,000,000 initiative from Lancashire County Council to support the Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing (AEM) sector targeted at tackling some of the economic impacts of Covid-19 and stimulating growth and is delivered by North West Aerospace Alliance and Community & Business Partners.

The programme runs all morning and will include:

  • An intelligence function to identify and protect Lancashire’s key aerospace assets and businesses.
  • A talent retention service to help people who have lost skilled jobs in Engineering and Manufacturing to find new work.
  • Support for businesses to find new contracts which fit their manufacturing capabilities nationally and internationally.
  • Support for businesses to innovate, for example, developing new products or new ways of working.
