Residents invited to engagement session to see highways plans

Local residents are invited to see plans for the new road at the Enterprise Zone at a special engagement session on Tuesday 5 March.

We are building a new road connecting Common Edge Road and Amy Johnson Way to create new jobs for the Fylde coast.

This will reduce congestion for businesses on the business park, while or residents, it will improve Common Edge Road, provide a route through to Squires Gate Lane and improve the junction at School Road.

This road is funded predominantly by Blackpool Council, plus a £7.5m Government grant through the Blackpool Town Deal, meaning the majority of the work must be completed by March 2026.

Final details on the construction of the new road are now being completed, with work aimed to start this spring. Ahead of construction starting, we are inviting residents to see the plans at a drop-in session.

Date: Tuesday 5 March

Time: 4pm-8pm

Venue: Common Edge Community Sports Village, Division Lane West

Throughout the event, project managers and designers will be available to answer questions and talk you through the plans.

If you are unable to attend the event, you can stay up to date with the plans on our website or by signing up for the newsletter at www.blackpool.gov.uk/EZNewsletter.
