New road construction spending with local people
The new road construction at Common Edge is committed to improving the lives of local people and businesses.
Throughout the scheme, George Cox & Sons has committed to something called social value, which can range from hiring local workers and apprentices, school visits, work experience and using local businesses as subcontractors.
A new map shows all the local workers and companies. This includes the following sub-contractors:

Donations of time and resources have been made to St Nicholas CoE Primary School, Blackpool & Fylde College and South Shore Cricket Club.
All workers from George Cox & Sons are from an FY postcode, while three local apprentices are also being trained up.
