Ground investigations for new Enterprise Zone road

Ground investigations as part of work to build a new access road into the Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone will take place next week. 

The investigations will take place across the length of the proposed new and improved areas of road, from Amy Johnson Way through to Common Edge Road and will take approximately four weeks. 

At Amy Johnson Way, two way temporary traffic lights will be needed to navigate traffic around the works, which will take place across different sites on the Enterprise Zone. 

At Common Edge Road, investigations will take place on the footpath and are not expected to impact traffic on the highway. 

These ground investigations will help to inform the programme and timeline for the new access road, with plans on the construction to be shared with businesses and local residents later this summer.
