Common Edge Road resurfacing

Work to build a new junction at Common Edge Road and Division Lane West to allow access to the new £6m Common Edge Sports Village is nearing completion.

We are now in the final stages of completing the works and are preparing to resurface the new junction. To safely complete the resurfacing a road closure of Common Edge Road will be required, from outside Trebaron Garden Centre to Queensway.

To minimise disruption as much as possible these works will be completed overnight.

The resurfacing work will take place Tuesday 30 May – Friday 2 June between 9.00pm and 6.00am.

During this time, Division Lane East will only be accessible via the junction on Midgeland Road.

Once the resurfacing is complete, temporary lights will be reinstated between Saturday 3 June and Monday 5 June for final road linings prior to the works being completed.

Additional highways works

In addition to our works, we understand the following highways works are also being undertaken by other parties.

Division Lane emergency works by United Utilities. 24-26 May outside Silver Holme. Residents can exit on to Common Edge Road and Midgeland Road.

Peel Road closed between Whitehills Road and Ballam Road to traffic for resurfacing works by Lancashire County Council. Resurfacing expected 8am-8pm 24-27 May, lining works 8am-8pm 30 May-1 June.

We appreciate everybody’s patience during the work and hope to fully reopen the road and sports pavilions after road linings are complete.
