The proposals have been applied for under two separate planning applications; the first, for 12 no. grass pitches was approved in 2020 and the playing field is now settling ready for first use in September 2021. The second application, proposing associated rugby facilities, a 3G pitch, changing facility, spectator areas and improved car park, is currently being determined by Blackpool and Fylde Councils.

The new development and improved facilities will enhance the sporting experience and sports training opportunities at the site for many local sporting clubs, transforming the area.
