House demolition to pave way for new road
As part of the works to build a new road connecting Common Edge Road with Amy Johnson Way, work to demolish a house at the corner of School Road is under way.
Removing the house will allow the junction at School Road to be widened in order to improve traffic flow, while also creating an additional lane to keep traffic flowing during the main highways construction works.
This work isn’t expected to require temporary traffic lights, but the footpath is closed in front of the house. Pedestrians will need to cross to the other side of the road.
This demolition and site clearance is expected to take no longer than four weeks.
